Warranty
Demko® knives carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Demko Knives stands behind its high standards of manufacturing and warrants that its knives are free of defects in materials and workmanship. Demko Knives also understands that mistakes can happen. In these cases, please contact Demko customer support. Your knife will likely be recommended for evaluation and/or warranty service.
If you purchased a Demko knife from a Demko Authorized Dealer, we encourage you to seek resolution through that dealer, keeping the process for refunds, returns, or exchanges within the original transaction network.
What this policy covers:
Demko® warranty policy covers all Demko knives, in their unaltered factory configuration, against manufacturing defects and quality control issues for the life of the product. The positive identification of these defects or issues is subject to inspection by the Demko team. Demko chooses to use a common-sense approach to its warranty policy. Normal cleaning, maintenance, and sharpening will not void the factory warranty. However, damages caused to the product during these processes, from mishandling, or from abuse will not be covered under warranty.
What this policy does NOT cover:
Normal wear and tear of the product through regular usage is not covered. As you own, carry, and use your Demko knife, finish color and texture may change, scratches may appear, and blade edges will dull (if not kept sharp). These types of normal wear and tear are not covered by the warranty process.
If you have warranty concerns about a cosmetic detail (ex. chips, cracks, finish blemishes, rub marks, scrapes, etc.), the knife must be in new, unused condition to satisfy warranty policy parameters. The Demko warranty does not cover cosmetic issues on used knives because normal use will cause cosmetic artifacts to appear.
Additionally, broken parts or rusted steel parts caused by improper maintenance or neglect are not covered under warranty.
Demko Knives does not warranty against third-party or aftermarket parts, including Demko knives that have been modified with third-party or aftermarket parts. The Demko knives manufacturing and assembly process uses intentionally specific tolerances to assure the highest quality product and performance standards. Altering these tolerances and specifications with aftermarket parts or modifications voids the warranty.
Simply put, Demko Knives cannot warranty against other entities’ products, quality, tolerances, repair work, or services because they are not our own. Demko Knives cannot offer advice regarding fitment or compatibility issues with third-party parts and accessories. These parts are not made by Demko nor can Demko speak about their use cases or fitment tolerances.
Complimentary Demko replacement parts may be offered only within a valid warranty claim. If you need extra parts due to user error (stripped screws during aftermarket modification, incompatibility with third-party accessory tolerances, broken parts during disassembly, etc.), spare parts are available for purchase on the website.
Process:
If you think that your Demko knife has an issue that would be covered under warranty, or if you need a replacement part under warranty circumstances, please reach out to support@demkoknives.com to initiate the process. If the issue is due to a Demko Knives error, quality control issue, or manufacturing defect, then Demko Knives will provide shipping service for you to have the knife inspected or serviced at the Demko Knives Shop.
In limited circumstances, the Demko Knives team can work to help you repair knives that have damages due to mishandling or user error. These issues will not be covered under warranty, but Demko Knives can provide some billable service work on a case-by-case basis. Some knives will not be able to be repaired if the damage is too severe. Demko is not accountable for damages caused outside of warranty protection.
Resolution:
The method of warranty resolution is decided at the discretion of Demko Knives.
The following list of potential resolution methods is typical, but not exhaustive:
- Demko Knives service work to restore product back to normal condition
- Exchange of product for same item
- Exchange of product for similar item, per customer approval
- Refund of purchase price back to original customer (original customer only with receipt)
Note: Any of the above resolutions institute a complete and satisfactory warranty resolution on the part of Demko Knives. It is important to note that product and replacement availability may vary, resulting in fewer options for warranty resolution methods. Demko Knives reserves the right to change warranty policy language and to deny warranty claims at its discretion.
